Object Description

Short Name: H_FIRE_PLY
Comments: PROT_HISTORICAL_FIRE_POLYS_SP contains perimeter areas of historical (not current/active) fire incidents. The data contains the spatial representation of the area the incident occured within, specific and generalized cause information, and the total hectares, as well as the method used to create the spatial representation of the data.

Column Name Short Name Data Type Data Precision Comments
FIRE_NUMBER FIRE_NO VARCHAR2 10 FIRE_NUMBER is a composite of the following fields: Zone, Fire ID and Fire Centre.
VERSION_NUMBER VERSION_NO NUMBER 10 VERSION_NUMBER represents the unique versions of the collected data. As additional data is tracked for an incident, new data will be stored in the datastore for the same incident. A new record is added with an incremented version number.
FIRE_YEAR FIRE_YEAR NUMBER 4 FIRE_YEAR represents the fiscal year, April 1 to March 31.
FIRE_CAUSE FIRE_CAUSE VARCHAR2 20 FIRE_CAUSE is the suspected cause of the fire, e.g., Lightning, Person.
FIRE_LABEL FIRELABEL VARCHAR2 16 FIRE_LABEL is the concatenation of Fire Number and Fire Year.
FIRE_SIZE_HECTARES SIZE_HA NUMBER 10 FIRE_SIZE_HECTARES indicates the area within the outside perimeter of the incident, in hectares.
SOURCE SOURCE VARCHAR2 50 SOURCE identifies the method used to create the spatial data for load into the datastore.
GPS_TRACK_DATE TRACK_DATE DATE 7 GPS_TRACK_DATE represents the date the incident was initially tracked via GPS.
LOAD_DATE LOAD_DATE DATE 7 LOAD_DATE epresents the date the incident was initially loaded into the datastore.
FIRE_DATE FIRE_DATE DATE 7 FIRE_DATE represent the date and time when the incident was reported.
CREATION_METHOD METHOD VARCHAR2 50 The Creation Method identifies the method used to collect the spatial data.
FEATURE_CODE FCODE VARCHAR2 10 FEATURE_CODE contains an alphanumeric value based on the Canadian Council of Surveys and Mapping’s (CCSM) system for classification of geographic features, e.g., AR82000110.
SHAPE SHAPE SDO_GEOMETRY 1 SHAPE is the column used to reference the spatial coordinates defining the feature.
OBJECTID OBJECTID NUMBER 38 OBJECTID is a column required by spatial layers that interact with ESRI ArcSDE. It is populated with unique values automatically by SDE.
SE_ANNO_CAD_DATA BLOB 4000 SE_ANNO_CAD_DATA is a binary column used by spatial tools to store annotation, curve features and CAD data when using the SDO_GEOMETRY storage data type.
FEATURE_AREA_SQM AREA_SQM NUMBER 19 FEATURE_AREA_SQM is the system calculated area of a two-dimensional polygon in square meters
FEATURE_LENGTH_M FEAT_LEN NUMBER 19 FEATURE_LENGTH_M is the system calculated length or perimeter of a geometry in meters
