Additional Information
| Purpose | Local and Regional Greenspaces have, up to this point, not been amalgamated into one dataset for the entire province and made available to the public. The dataset will be useful in cartographic and analytical products. |
| Data Quality | Data loading will occur as regions are completed; it will not be provincial in scope during the initial loading phase. Once local and regional greenspaces have been loaded for the entire province (anticipated by March 31, 2017), updates will occur on an as-needed basis. |

Object Description
Object Name: WHSE_BASEMAPPING.GBA_LOCAL_REG_GREENSPACES_SP
Short Name: LOCREG_GRN
Comments: This dataset contains spatial and attribute information for local and regional greenspaces in British Columbia. Local and regional greenspaces are municipal or regional district lands designated by local government agencies and managed for public enjoyment, ecosystem or wildlife values. Spatial boundaries were sourced from various Open Data Sources. Boundaries of parks defined by cadastral parcels were edge-matched to ParcelMap BC. This spatial layer contains multipart polygons.
| Column Name | Short Name | Data Type | Data Precision | Comments |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LOCAL_REG_GREENSPACE_ID | GRNSPC_ID | NUMBER | 10 | LOCAL_REG_GREENSPACE_ID is a system-generated unique identification number. |
| PARK_NAME | PARK_NAME | VARCHAR2 | 200 | PARK NAME is the name of the park, e.g., Allenby Park. |
| PARK_TYPE | PARK_TYPE | VARCHAR2 | 50 | PARK_TYPE is the type of park, e.g., Local, Regional, Regional Reserve, Private. |
| PARK_PRIMARY_USE | PRIME_USE | VARCHAR2 | 50 | PARK PRIMARY USE defines the primary use of a park, whether it is a general use park or there is a specific primary use, e.g., School, Pedestrian Walkway, Golf, Civic Plaza. The default value of Park is used for general use parks and where no specific primary use has been identified. |
| REGIONAL_DISTRICT | REG_DIST | VARCHAR2 | 100 | REGIONAL_DISTRICT is the name of the regional district in which the park resides, e.g., Capital Regional District. |
| MUNICIPALITY | MUNI | VARCHAR2 | 100 | MUNICIPALITY is the name of the municipality in which the park resides, or in which the majority of the park resides, e.g., Kamloops. If the value is null, the park is not within municipal boundaries. |
| CIVIC_NUMBER | CIV_NUM | NUMBER | 10 | CIVIC_NUMBER is the street number or nearest estimate of a street number for the park. |
| CIVIC_NUMBER_SUFFIX | CIV_NUM_SF | VARCHAR2 | 5 | CIVIC_NUMBER_SUFFIX is the letter or fraction that may come after the CIVIC NUMBER, e.g., A, 1/2. |
| STREET_NAME | STREET_NM | VARCHAR2 | 100 | STREET_NAME is the name of the street or nearest street to the park, e.g., Burnside Rd W. |
| LATITUDE | LATITUDE | NUMBER | 8 | LATITUDE is the geographic coordinate, in decimal degrees (dd.dddddd), of the location of the feature as measured from the equator, e.g., 55.323653. |
| LONGITUDE | LONGITUDE | NUMBER | 9 | LONGITUDE is the geographic coordinate, in decimal degrees (dd.dddddd), of the location of the feature as measured from the prime meridian, e.g., -123.093544. |
| WHEN_UPDATED | WHEN_UPDTD | DATE | 7 | WHEN_UPDATED is the date and time the record was last modified. |
| WEBSITE_URL | URL | VARCHAR2 | 254 | WEBSITE_URL contains a link to the home page of the park or the parks department, where available. |
| LICENCE_COMMENTS | LICN_CMNTS | VARCHAR2 | 500 | LICENCE_COMMENTS describes the source of the data where open data restrictions specify that attribution statements must be used, e.g., Contains information licensed under the Open Government Licence - City of Surrey. |
| FEATURE_AREA_SQM | AREA_SQM | NUMBER | 19 | FEATURE_AREA_SQM is the system calculated area of a two-dimensional polygon in square meters. |
| FEATURE_LENGTH_M | FEAT_LEN | NUMBER | 19 | FEATURE_LENGTH_M is the system calculated length or perimeter of a geometry in meters. |
| SHAPE | SHAPE | SDO_GEOMETRY | 1 | SHAPE is the column used to reference the spatial coordinates defining the feature. |
| OBJECTID | OBJECTID | NUMBER | 38 | OBJECTID is a column required by spatial layers that interact with ESRI ArcSDE. It is populated with unique values automatically by SDE. |
| SE_ANNO_CAD_DATA | BLOB | 4000 | SE_ANNO_CAD_DATA is a binary column used by spatial tools to store annotation, curve features and CAD data when using the SDO_GEOMETRY storage data type. |
