Object Name: WHSE_WATER_MANAGEMENT.GW_AQFR_VULN_SWI_PUMP_COAST_SP
Short Name: AQ_SWI_PC
Comments: The dataset was developed as part of the Risk Assessment Framework for Coastal Bedrock Aquifers project completed by Simon Fraser University, for the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Forests Lands and Natural Resource Operations. The maps show the vulnerability of coastal aquifers on Salt Spring Island to salt water intrusion, based on their intrinsic susceptibility (aquifer properties such as distance from the coast and groundwater flux), groundwater pumping (well density and type of use) and coastal hazard (coastal morphology and vulnerability to flooding from storm surges). The layer may be used to evaluate aquifers or areas that are at higher risk of saltwater intrusion, in order to guide resource management decisions.
|Column Name||Short Name||Data Type||Data Precision||Comments|
|AQFR_VULN_SWI_PUMP_COAST_ID||AQSWIPC_ID||NUMBER||10||AQFR_VULN_SWI_PUMP_COAST_ID is a system generated unique identification number.|
|RISK_RATING||RISK_RTNG||NUMBER||2||RISK_RATING is a numeric rating of the saltwater intrusion risk from pumping hazards, on a scale of 1 to 10. (Derived from an aggregate model of hyrdological features.)|
|RISK_CLASS||RISK_CLASS||VARCHAR2||30||RISK_CLASS is a qualitative classification of the RISK_RATING and includes five clasess: Low (1-2), Moderately Low (3-4), Moderate (5-6), Moderately High (7-8), and High (9-10).|
|ASSESSMENT_YEAR||ASSESS_YR||NUMBER||4||ASSESSMENT_YEAR is the year that the saltwater intrusion vulnerability model was run. This indicates the currency of data that was used in the model.|
|LOCATION_NAME||LOC_NAME||VARCHAR2||200||LOCATION_NAME is the name of the Island or Coastline for which the given polygon is describing saltwater intrusion risk, e.g., Salt Spring Island.|
|FEATURE_AREA_SQM||FEAT_AREA||NUMBER||19||FEATURE_AREA_SQM is the system calculated area of a two-dimensional polygon in square meters.|
|FEATURE_LENGTH_M||FEAT_LEN||NUMBER||19||FEATURE_LENGTH_M is the system calculated length or perimeter of a geometry in meters.|
|SHAPE||SHAPE||SDO_GEOMETRY||1||SHAPE is the column used to reference the spatial coordinates defining the feature.|
|OBJECTID||OBJECTID||NUMBER||38||OBJECTID is a column required by spatial layers that interact with ESRI ArcSDE. It is populated with unique values automatically by SDE.|
|SE_ANNO_CAD_DATA||ANNO_CAD||BLOB||4000||SE_ANNO_CAD_DATA is a binary column used by spatial tools to store annotation, curve features and CAD data when using the SDO_GEOMETRY storage data type.|
