Additional Information
| Purpose | This dataset has been compiled to provide a complete and detailed dataset of British Columbia's air transport features. |
| Data Quality | This dataset was derived from a review of existing point and polygon feature classes within the BCGW that contained features pertinent to air transport. Additionally, a considerable amount of information was pulled from the Canadian Flight Supplement. Where individual features resided in multiple datasets, including the Canadian Flight Supplement, the Canadian Flight Supplement was taken to be the authoritative source. All points not listing the Canadian Flight Supplement as DATA_SOURCE had their positions verified against aerial imagery to ensure accurate locations. Coordinates were subsequently derived from these locations. Points listing the Canadian Flight Supplement as DATA_SOURCE were generated from their published coordinates. |
| Lineage Statement | The following datasets and data sources were used in the creation of this feature class: WHSE_ENVIRONMENTAL_MONITORING.CHRA_AIRPORTS_POINT REG_IMAGERY_AND_BASEMAPS.AIRPORTS_AIRFIELDS_SBC_POINT WHSE_BASEMAPPING.TRIM_EBM_AIRFIELDS WHSE_IMAGERY_AND_BASE_MAPS.GSR_APRVD_ATTRACTIONS_ISP WHSE_BASEMAPPING.NTS_BC_TRANSPORT_POINTS_125M Digital Road Atlas Sites Digital Road Atlas Localites Canadian Flight Supplement (February 6, 2014 - April 3, 2014) |
