Disaster Response Routes (DRRs) are routes temporarily prioritized for the movement of people and/or goods to achieve emergency response objectives and will be coordinated regionally as needed. DRRs may or may not coincide with critical routes, may be multi-modal, and could change due to the circumstances to address the immediate need. DRRs are flexible and adaptable to a particular event for distinct movement of resources. DRRs may only be capable of supporting emergency responder vehicles. DRRs are not automatically activated because they must be coordinated. These routes are regulated by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.

Additional Information

Purpose

Disaster Response Routes are routes prioritized by response authorities for the movement of emergency resources in order to fast-track the achievement of emergency or disaster response objectives.

Lineage Statement

The classification for Disaster Response Routes is in transition. Updates to this dataset, and to definitions for the types of Disaster Response Routes, will be updated when changes are implemented.

Object Description

Object Name: WHSE_IMAGERY_AND_BASE_MAPS.DRP_DISASTER_RESPNSE_ROUTES_SP

Short Name: DRPDSSTRRS
Comments: This feature represents road segments derived from the Digital Road Atlas that are designated as disaster routes. It uses line geometry.

Column Name Short Name Data Type Data Precision Comments
DISASTER_RESPONSE_ROUTE_ID DRR_ID NUMBER 10 DISASTER RESPONSE ROUTE ID: this is the unique identifier as determined by the Digital Road Atlas of each of the road segments.
FULL_NAME FULL_NAME VARCHAR2 70 FULL NAME: this is the full name of the route as determined by the Digital Road Atlas.
RESPONSE_TYPE_CODE RESP_CODE VARCHAR2 15 RESPONSE TYPE CODE: the abbreviated code describing the type of Disaster Response Route, e.g., CRR (Critical Regional Route).
RESPONSE_TYPE_DESCRIPTION RESP_DESC VARCHAR2 150 RESPONSE TYPE DESCRIPTION: the full description of the type of Disaster Response Route, e.g., Critical Regional Route.
FEATURE_LENGTH_M FEAT_LEN NUMBER 19 FEATURE LENGTH M is the system calculated length or perimeter of a geometry in meters.
GEOMETRY GEOMETRY SDO_GEOMETRY 1 GEOMETRY: an ArcSDE column that references the spatial feature's coordinate geometry.
OBJECTID OBJECTID NUMBER 38 OBJECTID: is a required attribute of feature classes and object classes in a geodatabase. This attribute is added to a SDE layer that was not previously created as part of a geodatabase but is now being registered with a geodatabase.
SE_ANNO_CAD_DATA BLOB 4000 SE ANNO CAD DATA is a binary column used by spsatial tools to store annotation, curve features and CAD data when using the SDO_GEOMETRY storage data type.
