Lineage Statement

GeoBC reviewed the start and end point for ferry routes identified in our digital road atlas (https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/c4935326-27cc-4324-8a2b-61685d3e9ac4) and created points where ferry terminal structures were visible on ortho imagery.

We reviewed the following sources to acquire and input attribute information: a. BC Ferries website (official terminal names, addresses, operator information for contracted terminals such as water taxis) b. Ortho imagery (number of berths) c. Seaspan website for Seaspan terminals d. Operator websites for Lady Rose and Get West adventure cruises (operators for passenger services on west coast of Vancouver Island) e. BC MoT website for inland ferry terminals f. Operator websites for water taxi services (e.g. Protection Island terminal in Nanaimo, Lund Water Taxi) g. Washington State and Alaska DoT websites for Washington State and Alaska ferries respectively
