Spatial layer intended to show the well protection area for a specific drinking water supply well to assist with managing and protecting the well from potential contamination.
The capture zones have been delineated by different hydrogeologists using different methodologies such as arbitrary fixed radius, calculated fixed radius, analytical equations and numerical modelling. Time of travel (TOT) zones have been delineated by different hydrogeologists and are not all the same. Some of the capture zones delineated by arbitrary fixed radius or analytical equation may not have a time of travel associated with the boundary delineated. For others, TOT zones have been categorized in this coverage using different colours, e.g., red for </=1 year, yellow for >1 to </= 5 years, green for >5 to </= 10 years and blue for >10 years. Capture zones with no associated time of travel are purple. These coloured polygons represent the TOT zones delineated by the hydrogeologist that falls within the TOT category; the TOT zone may or may not correspond to the category boundaries. Time of travel zones should be confirmed using the ?identity? tool.
