This dataset is intended for general interest. It provides basic information about some of the Heritage Conservation Areas in BC, such as the Clayburn Heritage Conservation Area in Abbotsford. The data includes, where known: HCA name, local government name, HCA location, year of designation, information source, and whether or not the HCA includes a schedule (list) of properties that are protected heritage property under the Local Government Act.

Under the Local Government Act, a local government may designate a HCA within its Official Community Plan (OCP). An OCP may include a schedule of properties located within a Heritage Conservation Area that are considered to be protected heritage property. This is a multi-part polygon layer.
