Point features showing the locations of groundwater wells which have lithology recorded.
Each record in the dataset represents a lithology interval. Because each water well often has multiple lithology layers recorded, there will often be multiple points overlapped at each well location.

Spatial layer intended to show lithologies at locations of wells which have been drilled, dug or driven in the province, to assist in the management and protection of the groundwater resource.

Data Quality

Completeness - Variable. Some wells have no lithology reported. Attribute Accuracy - For wells database: Attribute data is supplied voluntarily and no formal standard for completeness or accuracy is in place. Logical Consistency - Data has been modelled.

STATIC_WATER_LEVEL STATIC_LVL NUMBER 8 The level (depth below ground) to which water will naturally rise in a well without pumping, measured in feet, e.g. 280.0
DIAMETER DIAMETER NUMBER 8 The diameter of the casing of the well, measured in inches, e.g. 6.62. There can be multiple casings in a well, e.g. surface casing, and production casing. Diameter of casing made available to the public is generally the production casing.
AQUIFER_ID AQUIFER_ID NUMBER 10 System generated unique sequential number assigned to each mapped aquifer. The aquifer ID identifies which aquifer a well is in. An aquifer can have multiple wells, while a single well can only be in one aquifer.
