These datasets provide geographic references for geological/geophysical reports submitted by petroleum exploration companies as work requirements to hold tenure on exploration permits. The first report indexed here represent the early years of petroleum exploration from the early 1900s to approximately the mid 1960s. This index provides details on what type of information is contained in the reports stored in Victoria. it displays the geographic location of the exploration permits relating to the reports. These historically and geologically significant reports have not been published and can only be viewed at the offices of the Ministry of Natural Gas Development. A significant portion of the seismic lines contained in the reports have now been scanned and can be accessed remotely from Seismic Lines Georeports 2016.

REPORT_TITLE REPORT_TIT VARCHAR2 254 REPORT_TITLE is the name of report as submitted by the author. It may be modified by the BC Ministry of Energy and Mines for greater clarity of purpose or brevity.
REPORT_ID REPORT_ID VARCHAR2 25 REPORT_ID is the identifying tag assigned by the operating company to each seismic line. It differs from SEISMIC_LINE_ID because it is the number originally assigned by the operating company, e.g., Line 2; LINE 7601-14.
YEAR YEAR NUMBER 4 YEAR is the year the report was submitted.
AUTHOR AUTHOR VARCHAR2 75 AUTHOR is the name of the person who wrote the report.
START_OF_LINE SOL VARCHAR2 20 START_OF_LINE is the location information identifying the start of a seismic line., e.g, A-074-B,94-I-7.
END_OF_LINE EOL VARCHAR2 20 END_OF_LINE is the location information signifying the end of a seismic line, e.g., D-76-E,94-I-8.
SEISMIC_PROGRAM_NUMBER SPNUM NUMBER 5 SEISMIC_PROGRAM_NUMBER is a number given by the original operators for them to distinguish seismic projects from one another, e.g., 122.
