A geographic area defined in the Electoral Districts Act that is represented in the Legislative Assembly by a single MLA. Electoral districts are also known as constituencies or ridings. (Constitution Act, s. 18; Electoral Districts Act, s. 1-4)

The 2008 Electoral Boundaries Commission divided B.C. into 85 electoral districts.

These electoral districts have been used in the following electoral events: 2009 Provincial General Election, 2012 Port Moody-Coquitlam By-election, 2012 Chilliwack-Hope By-election, 2013 Provincial General Election, 2013 Westside-Kelowna By-election, 2016 Coquitlam-Burke Mountain by-election, 2016 Vancouver-Mount Pleasant by-election.

Data Quality

This dataset is aligned to base features such as: the Digital Road Atlas 2 road network, the Freshwater Atlas, and road centre-line aligned municipal and regional district boundaries. The node density of this dataset prohibits it from being saved as a .kml or .kmz file.
