Site-based Voting Areas are a distinct type of voting area used to designate commercial, not-for-profit, or public residential care facilities that provide long-term care to voters where: • the voters are residents; • the residents have medical or physical limitations that hinder their ability to travel to a regular voting place.

Point Voting Areas are a building or multiple buildings that contain up to 400 registered voters. Each electoral district is divided into voting areas that are used to assign voters to voting places.

These Voting Areas have been used in the following electoral events: 2016 Coquitlam-Burke Mountain by-election, 2016 Vancouver-Mount Pleasant by-election.

To adopt to changing demographics pursuant to section 80 of the Election Act, the boundaries of the voting areas of the Vancouver-Mount Pleasant and Coquitlam-Burke Mountain electoral districts have been adjusted in this dataset since the last gazette date.
