Points where a fish passage assessment has been performed on a stream crossing structure and found to be a failure. Design points have been identified as a priority for remediation based on a variety of potential criteria: quality of habitat upstream, quantity of fish habitat upstream, number and importance of species present, operational plans for the road cost of the proposed remediation, etc. They are sites where the amount of habitat to be gained by remediation has been confirmed and where a design has actually been completed.

Additional Information

Purpose

The Provincial Stream Crossing Information System (PSCIS) is the provinicial repository for all culvert fish passage data. The PSCIS Design Proposal Point layer shows points where a fish passage assessment has been performed on a stream crossing structure and found to be a failure. Design points have been identified as a priority for remediation based on a variety of potential criteria: quality of habitat upstream, quantity of fish habitat upstream, number and importance of species present operational plansd for the road cost of the prroposed remediation, etc. They are sites where the amount of habitat to be gained by remediation has been confirmed and where a design has actually been completed. These points show all of the sites where designs exist but where the remediation work itself has not been carried out yet. As such, they allow for further prioritization of sites for rehabilitation.

UTM_ZONE UTM_ZONE NUMBER 2 UTM ZONE is a segment of the Earth's surface 6 degrees of longitude in width. The zones are numbered eastward starting at the meridian 180 degrees from the prime meridian at Greenwich. There are five zones numbered 7 through 11 that cover British Columbia, e.g., Zone 10 with a central meridian at -123 degrees.
UTM_EASTING TMSTNG NUMBER 13 UTM EASTING is the distance in meters eastward to or from the central meridian of a UTM zone with a false easting of 500000 meters. e.g., 440698
UTM_NORTHING TMNRTHNG NUMBER 13 UTM NORTHING is the distance in meters northward from the equator. e.g., 6197826
LOCATION_CONFIDENCE_IND LCTNCNFDNC VARCHAR2 1 The LOCATION CONFIDENCE IND may indicate if this spatial point is a duplicate. Allowable values are 'Y' and 'N'
STREAM_NAME STR_NAME VARCHAR2 256 The STREAM NAME is the mapped stream name. If no name is given for the watercourse, then the parent tributary name is used (i.e. Tributary to Bear Creek)
ROAD_NAME RD_NAME VARCHAR2 256 The ROAD NAME is the name of the road at the crossing, usually a forest road.
ROAD_KM_MARK RD_KM_MK NUMBER 10 The ROAD KM MARK is the road kilometre position of the crossing to the nearest 0.01 km, matching the kilometre markers, if present.
