The Seedlot Spatial Area of Use (AOU) data was created for each Seedlot registered in the Seed Planning and Registry web application (SPAR).

The Chief Forester's Standards for Seed Use (under the Forest and Range Practices Act - FRPA) defines the seed transfer limits applied to a Seedlot based on the Seedlot collection location or seed orchard.

• Class A seedlots have one of the “Tested Parent Tree Areas of Use”, which is a group of Seedlot Planning Zones and elevation minimum and maximum. • Class B seedlots have a Seed Planning Zone, BEC zone, elevation minimum and maximum and latitude/longitude range. • Class B+ (Superior Provenance) seedlots have multiple Seed Planning zones and elevation minimum and maximum.
